Hi everyone,
Today I want to talk about the escalating conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran. This is not just news—it’s directly hitting our import & export business.
Let me show you the real, immediate impacts:
Many flights to the Middle East are suspended. Dubai airports are closed. Major ports are facing disruptions.
Most shipping lines are avoiding the Red Sea, Suez Canal, and the Strait of Hormuz, and rerouting all the way around the Cape of Good Hope. This adds 10–14 days to the journey.
As a result:
- Freight costs are jumping sharply
- War risk surcharges are added
- Shipping insurance becomes much more expensive
- Delivery delays and port congestion are unavoidable
These situations are out of our control.
We can’t stop the conflicts, but we can protect our orders and our profits.
So my No.1 advice for you today is:
Please consider suspending new shipments for now.
Why?
Because right now, the risks are too high.
Your cargo may face long delays, extra costs, port closures, or safety issues.
It’s better to wait until the situation becomes more stable.
Here are 3 more practical tips:
- Check your in-transit goods immediately. Confirm the latest route and status with your forwarder.
- Communicate with your customers early about possible delays to avoid complaints.
- Be careful with new orders. Don’t rush to ship until the situation is clearer.
We can’t control what’s happening in the world,
but we can control our decisions to keep our business safe.
As your sourcing agent, I’ll keep you updated with the latest news and help you minimize risks.
If you have any questions about your shipments, just send me a message.
Thanks for watching.
